This section I’ve been planning for a long while – it’s simply going to be filled with products made from the very best material possible- “Titanium” Why is Titanium the best you might ask? – named from the colossal Titans of Greek mythology, Titanium has the highest ratio of tensile strength to density of any metal on Earth, Titanium Alloys also boast the highest strength –to- weight ratio of any known metal on the planet, pure Titanium is as strong as steel, but remarkably 45% lighter in weight.
Titanium also has excellent corrosion resistant properties; it does not rust or corrode in any harsh environment, with having a passive oxide surface film that forms naturally. This self oxidisation has the amazing effect of making scratches in the Titanium’s surface “Vanish”. No form of protective coating is required with Titanium, unlike much cheaper easy to machine metals such as Aluminium that have to be anodised to protect from corrosion, which in turn gives the illusion of it actually having some imaginary longevity of life and value.
Titanium’s highly impressive strength-to-weight ratio has made Titanium Alloys the go-to material were metal components need to be as tough, as lightweight as possible and resilient to corrosion – it’s usage in the Aerospace & Military Industries has become intensive, although it’ not a particularly rare metal, it’s very expensive to mine and produce.

Defiant River Pod
For well over a year I've been being asked many, many times "Could you please make a River Pod again?" I'd reply that if I was going to make one it would have to be something special made from the very best materials possible, and to a strict criteria to make it worthwhile, were do you start - well setting off on a Fishing trip!
Transportation: I've fished the River's Ribble and Darwen for over 50 years, being as mobile as possible carrying as little weight as possible is a top priority, with this in mind I designed it to be as lightweight as possible, but still retaining strength. By building it mainly from Titanium this was achieved with the Chassis weighing just 914 grams, and closes up to just 22" long (The Photo to the left shows just how compact) All the outer shafts are Titanium Tube, all the Inner shafts are solid Titanium Bar, with only the fittings being made from Stainless Steel.
Fast & Easy to set up: an absolutely critical design feature if your roving a river, the last thing you want to be doing is constantly playing around setting something up every time you move swims -
Splay out the two front Legs to any angle you wish, with each Leg having 360 degree of independently rotation, they can be set to compensate for any shape of Banking, lock via the Knurled Thumb Wheel.
Now fit the main Spine shaft that simply screws in and locks into the rear of the Main fitting, if you need to adjust the height or angle, all three shafts are length adjustable via Thumb Screws.
Now drop in and lock the Buzz Bar via the large Thumb Screw, again another unique design feature the Buzz Bar has 360 degree's of rotational adjustment in the vertical and horizontal axis, so regardless of how the main Chassis has been set your guaranteed to be able to set the Buzz Bar exactly level.
The Defiant River Pod comes complete with a Top Buzz Bar included, it's fitted with a anti-twist fitting that eliminates the dreaded self undoing of Buzz Bars when you get a "3ft Twitch" on the right hand Rod. This fitting can be removed, when removed the Buzz Bar is just like any normal 2 Rod Buzz Bar.
The example shown I built for my own personal use, and has a 8" wide Buzz Bar - I only use vintage Abu Suveran S4000M Reels or K Dowling Centre Pins, so I don't need wide Bars, but for those who do need a little wider Buzz Bar's no problem. I personally don't use a Buzz Bar at the base, but for those who do I have designed a slid on version for the River Pod as an optional extra

Having made Titanium Bank Sticks since 2010 in various designs and mixed be it 316 Stainless Steel fittings or Solid Carbon Inners etc.. I planned at some point to go full Titanium, these are "Totally Titanium" even the Thumb Screws are made from Solid Titanium, made in the Defiant standard 1/2" diameter.
The strength to weight ratio of these Bank Sticks is as good as it's possible to achieve with any raw materials found on this planet, here's an approximate chart, obviously it varies if Grub Screw or Thumb Screw locking is fitted. What's more important to you the customer - they are priced at down to earth prices.

~ It is advisable to fit Stainless Augers into the longer length sizes
(A = weight with a Auger fitted) Having "Proper" Archimedean screw type Augers fitted makes life so much easier than having to use brute force, you just let the Auger do all the work - gentle down pressure and spin at the same time, once the Auger had got a good bite into the ground, just spin.
~ Total Titanium Bank Sticks can be fitted into Trident Fantail, Panther & Tiger systems for a slight surcharge, instead of the Std Bank Sticks.

Completely new design with many added features - made from Titanium with proper Stainless Steel Augers fitted plus fittings. Each one has a 6" solid Titanium Tommy Bar included, which is stored inside the main shaft to prevent ever becoming mislaid. To provide grip for the wrapped line a substantial section of the main shaft has been deep knurled - no easy task in Titanium. Perfectly matching diameter from above the Auger to the top for ease of use, these are built to last with being Titanium - they won't scratch or corrode like versions made from cheap Ally.

Solid Titanium Bivvy Pegs
It almost criminal to go sticking these into the ground! Made 8” long as standard from solid Titanium, and weight just 57 grams each. These don’t have any stupid little squiggly bits cut in them that servers zero practical purpose. These are machined with 20 reverse tapered grooves in the shank, each one acts just like the diamond shape in a Spear’s point to hinder removal, in other words they actually grip the ground in which they are inserted.
These are based on the original Titanium Bivvy Pegs I made over 10 years ago; I still use that very first set I made to this day, a bit scratched after the years of constant use but they will never need replacing with being Titanium.

As soon as I assembled the first one from parts I’d just made to finished product from sketches it was an instant “Wow!” I’ve even included a Bottle opener into the Carabineer for those who fancy cracking open a bottle after seeing the Weigh Scales Reading. Made from solid Titanium with a removable End cap with a Split Ring, this end cap has a Brass 3/8” BSF thread so it can be fitted into a Landing net Handle and used as a support for the Scales.
